Chennai Private Tankers Continue Strike. Over A Lakh Households Affected

More than a lakh houses were affected in Chennai as around four thousand private tanker operators continued their strike for the second day on Wednesday protesting the ban on drawing ground water from over-exploited areas. To make this worse, the packaged drinking water industry too announced an indefinite strike. Some malls including the Express Avenue Mall were closed amid water crisis.
