The growing menace of global recession has forced many European shoemakers to look for India rather than China as sourcing from India is becoming cheaper due to low cost. "India works out to be cheaper since labour is much cheaper and labour laws are less tough. China is proving to be quite expensive," said Rajiv Mehta, India MD, Puma.
