The coffee industry in India is worth over Rs 800 crore and has been growing at 20-25 per cent over the past five years. Cafe Coffee Day was the first to enter the sector in 1996, and was followed by Barista four years later. But today the competition is not restricted to these players any longer and several foreign corporates such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Di Bella are eyeing a footing in the market that's expected to grow by 25 per cent over the next five years.
