R Muralidharan, associate director of Fitch Ratings, tells that the rating agency expects prices of commodities such as cement, coal and iron ore to rise because of the recent hike in rail freight rates. The cement sector is likely to face the biggest impact since bulk of the material is transported via this route, Mr Muralidharan adds. He further says that among cement majors, ACC is likely to feel the pinch the most.
