In a big revelation in the Delhi blast case, key suspect Muzammil has told the investigators that he and Umar had recced the Red Fort before the explosion in the area left nine people dead. According to sources, Muzammil has been questioned and confronted with information recovered from his phone's data dump. During questioning, Muzammil said there was an attack plan for January 26 next year, and the area around Red Fort was recced as part of it.

Muzammil, the sources said, has also told the cops that they had a plan to attack a crowded place this Diwali, but it could not be carried out.

A senior doctor, Muzammil, is being investigated after a blast near the Red Fort on Monday evening shook the nation and set off alarm bells in the security establishment. Umar, Muzammil's aide and colleague at Faridabad's Al Falah University, is believed to have died when the car exploded near a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station.
