Bengaluru: BMTC Conductor Suspended After Minister’s Surprise Bus Inspection

A surprise inspection by Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on a BMTC bus in Bengaluru has resulted in the suspension of a conductor. The conductor allegedly asked the minister, who was travelling incognito, to either pay the exact ₹6 fare or get off the bus without informing him about BMTC’s UPI ticket payment system. During the inspection, the minister also identified issues with passenger service, prompting BMTC to operationalise an official bus stop near Fun World on Jayamahal Road.
