The Assam government has decided to discontinue the mandatory testing for COVID-19 at airports, railway stations, other entry points and hospitals from today, but those people with symptoms are requested to conduct tests on a voluntary basis. Night curfew will also be withdrawn and schools, which were closed till class 8, have been allowed to reopen. According to the reports of Assam's Health and Family Welfare Department, the state's daily positivity rate has drastically reduced from 4 per cent to 0.83 per cent during the past two weeks.
