A wild elephant in Assam’s Golaghat district was spotted with a tractor tyre stuck around its neck before the animal was rescued by the forest department after hours of effort. The elephant was seen walking through a tea garden in Bokial, Numaligarh, while searching for food, in a video that has gone viral on social media. Local residents suspected that the tyre had got caught around its neck while the elephant was moving through the area. The sight raised concerns about the elephant’s safety, particularly as the heavy tyre could have restricted its movement and caused injuries.
