Andhra Pradesh water project cost soars by Rs 52000 crore

Earlier this year, NDTV had exposed scandalous wastage of thousands of crores of rupees in irrigation projects that are simply unviable and corruption-riddled in Andhra Pradesh. The CAG has now said all irrigation projects under the ambitious Jalayagnam programme must be reviewed, pointing out that inordinate delays of several years has pushed up project's costs by over 52 thousand crore rupees.
