Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah interacted with drivers (Saarthis) of Bharat Taxi in New Delhi. In a video released today, Mr Shah said that Bharat Taxi Cooperative is to empower the drivers by providing them the ownership of their work. He mentioned that the initiative focuses to curb the problems related to private taxi service companies and provide the profit to drivers and not the cooperative. The Minister further said that the initiative is becoming a platform for the welfare of drivers and safety of passengers. Mr Shah said that there will be nothing hidden in the Bharat Taxi and every information will be given by notification to the Sarathis. He noted that the cooperative taxi service Bharat taxi will become the most transparent cab services in the world. Highlighting the unique Sarathi Didi initiative of Bharat Taxi, the Minister said that through this feature women passengers can choose women drivers for their rides. Mr Shah also noted that the Sarathis of Bharat Taxi will get insurance benefits and easy loan facilities.
