Ajit Pawar’s ‘Conscience’ Response On Resignation Demand

With pressure mounting on Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and calls for his resignation, his response has fuelled speculation over his next move. While the government so far has denied any talk of resignation, Ajit Pawar’s statement that saying he would “use his conscience” before making any decision, has led to speculation over what’s on Ajit Pawar’s mind, especially as other senior leaders have rushed to his defence and dismissed talks of resignation. The state government has ordered a probe into a land deal involving a firm associated with Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar, amidst allegations of irregularities. The deal itself however does not have Parth Pawar’s name.
