AIIMS Study: 55% Heart Attack Deaths Happen at Home

An eye-opening AIIMS study has revealed that more than half of heart attack deaths happen at home because of delays in treatment. More than half of these deaths happened because people are not aware of the signs and symptoms. And in cases of heart attacks, time is of the essence, action ought to be taken within the first hour for a better chance of survival. A very small proportion of patients with cardiac emergencies actually understand symptoms or reach health facilities in time.
