After Satya Niketan Horror, Delhi Cracks Down On Illegal Construction

After seven people were killed in the Satya Niketan PG building collapse, the Delhi government has launched a crackdown on allegedly illegal structures across the city. The Chief Minister has directed the MCD to conduct detailed surveys, scrutinise building records and take action against unauthorised construction.

Demolition action has begun near the site of the September 6 collapse, with similar drives reported in areas including Pandav Nagar, Laxmi Nagar and Nehru Vihar. Meanwhile, the operator of the Satya Niketan PG has been arrested, taking the total number of arrests in the case to five.
