An NDTV investigation into the alarming rise in maternal deaths across Rajasthan has prompted action at the highest levels of the state government.
Following NDTV's ground reports from Kota, Bikaner and Jodhpur, the Rajasthan Health Department convened an emergency review meeting in Jaipur. The Health Minister called principals of government medical colleges, hospital superintendents, senior gynaecologists and experts, including specialists from AIIMS, to examine the unexplained spike in maternal deaths.
