Several villages in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district continue to remain inundated a week after floodwaters from the Ghaghara River entered low-lying areas. Farmlands and roads remain submerged, forcing residents to wade through knee-deep water or use boats for transportation. Farmers say standing paddy crops have been destroyed, while residents in affected areas report difficulties meeting their daily needs and allege a lack of assistance. Officials said 173 villages across 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been affected by floods.
