Now, imagine enhancing that experience with a spread of delicious, wholesome food served right on board. That's exactly what travel vlogger Himanshu Yadav captured on his recent trip aboard the Mandovi Express.
The Mandovi Express, a daily service between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai and Madgaon Junction (MAO) in Goa, covers roughly 581 km in about 12 hours, taking passengers through the scenic Western Ghats, the Konkan coast, and lush green landscapes along the route. Renowned for its culinary offerings, the train has earned the nickname "The Food Queen of Konkan Railways." Its diverse and well-loved onboard menu ensures that the journey is as memorable for the taste buds as it is for the eyes.

Sharing a virtual tour of his foodie adventure, the vlogger says, "Right now, we are travelling on the foodie train of Indian Railways, the Mandovi Express. Its train number is 10103, and this train runs between Mumbai and Goa. But that's not why it is called the foodie train of Indian Railways. Instead, you will find a variety of delicious food options on board."
He then talks about the food options offered on the train:
- Welcome foods: "As soon as the train departs from Mumbai's CSMT railway station, you'll be delighted with a tasty burger and sandwich, followed by some flavorful sabudana vada and refreshing curd," the vlogger shares.
- Pre-Lunch: Next comes a fruit platter filled with pieces of guava, apple, pineapple, dragon fruit, and more. Praising the same, he states, "This should be available in every train. It is a very good thing for breakfast."
- Lunch: For his vegetarian lunch, he can be seen showing off a bowl of manchurian alongside fried rice. "There are also options for non-veg. And in sweets, you will get gulab jamun," he says.
- Snacks: Later, the vlogger indulges in a cup of tea alongside fenugreek bhajiya and a scrumptious platter of vada pav. "You will also get tea in a Konkan Railway cup. And another specialty of this train is fenugreek vada. Absolutely amazing," he mentions, adding, "And vada pav-you can't miss this on this train."
The food experiences while travelling on the Mandovi Express are indeed mouth-watering.
