Cab rides are generally simple and predictable, with most passengers just expecting a smooth journey from one place to another. But if you're travelling to Hyderabad and book a cab, you may come across a wierdly unique request. This request has already turned an ordinary ride into a talking point online. A cab driver's printed note inside his vehicle went viral for laying down a list of rules for passengers. The most surprising one included the instructions to riders not to call him 'bhaiya.'
A techie named Aman shared a picture of the cab driver's detailed note on X. In the caption, he wrote, “Hyderabad cabs do not hesitate." The note starts by stating, “You don't own the cab. The driver does.” It then outlines basic rider etiquette such as speaking politely, show respect and close the door gently. The driver also tells passengers to “keep your attitude in your pocket,” adding, "you are not giving more money to us."

The note tells passengers not to ask the driver to speed up and to “be on time” instead. A bold warning adds: “NO ROMANCE. THIS IS A CAB, NOT YOUR PRIVATE PLACE OR OYO. KEEP DISTANCE AND STAY CALM. GIVE RESPECT TAKE RESPECT."
The Internet Users Have A Split Opinion
The post went viral on X in no time. While many users found the driver's requests odd, others supported his right to set personal boundaries. One user wrote, "Everything was fine i would be out for Don't say bhaiya to us line, Anna, Bhaiya are like peak respect words for drivers."
Another added, "Idk I would have existed the cab and cancelled upon seeing this."
Someone else commented, "You're running it for hire. Which means, as long as the person in the ride time. He's paying for it. Don't show attitude, please park it your dikki. Be mindful and respectful with customers. Don't do rash driving, just because of it is your car you don't have rights to say shit."

Others observed that such notes reveal growing driver frustration over difficult riders, long shifts and pricing challenges.
