A country already synonymous with world-class chocolate is about to take things to a whole new level. And if you're a chocolate lover, this is the kind of news that feels almost too good to be true. In a move that's set to redefine dessert tourism, Switzerland is preparing to launch a massive chocolate-themed park.
Switzerland Is Getting Its Own Chocolate Theme Park
Spearheaded by Maison Cailler, the country's oldest chocolate brand still in existence, the project is nothing short of a dreamland. With a staggering investment of €436.1 million, the upcoming Parc du chocolat Cailler is set to open its first phase in 2030 in Broc, Gruyère, Euronews reported. But here's the exciting part: early visitors may get a sneak peek as soon as late 2027 to mid-2028.
Sprawling across 30,000 square metres, it's a full-blown chocolate universe. Imagine stepping inside a real chocolate factory, watching how your favourite sweets are made, and then tasting them fresh. That's exactly what the park promises. There will be hands-on workshops led by expert chocolatiers, where you can try your hand at crafting your own creations. The entire experience could last up to six hours, giving you plenty of time to explore, learn, and indulge.

One of the most fascinating features planned is a Cacao Greenhouse, where cocoa trees will be grown under shaded conditions to show visitors exactly where chocolate begins. Additionally, according to Euronews, there will be a "flying theatre," a special attraction that will mimic flying over Switzerland's stunning scenery.

This mega project is designed to be a complete getaway. Plans include family-friendly hotels, multiple restaurants, and easy access via the Swiss rail network. For those driving in, a large multi-purpose parking facility is also in the works. The park is expected to attract between 700,000 and 800,000 visitors in its very first year, with long-term goals of crossing the 1 million mark annually.
