An Air India Express flight from Ranchi to Bengaluru was delayed by five hours at Birsa Munda Airport here on Sunday as the airline had to arrange oxygen cylinders from Delhi, an airport official said.

The official said Air India Express flight number 1239 had arrived here from Bengaluru. During the flight, a passenger had experienced breathing difficulty and was provided oxygen on board.

The passenger was stable and went home after the flight landed at the Ranchi airport.

The return flight to Bengaluru was delayed by five hours as the airline had to arrange oxygen cylinders from New Delhi.

"The flight number IX 1239 of Air India Express arrived here around 8.55 am. The return flight IX 1244 departed about five hours late for Bengaluru with passengers from Ranchi around 13:51 after oxygen cylinders were arranged from Delhi and brought here," Airport Director Vinod Kumar Singh said.
