As per reports, two newly built fibre snake boats have been added to Kumarakom's fleet, allowing tourists to enjoy the spectacle throughout the year. These boats were constructed in Chellanam and brought to Kumarakom by Jiffy Naduvileparambil, a local boating enthusiast and organiser.

- 55 oarsmena
- 5 Amaram (front guides who steer and navigate)
- 5 Thaalakkar (rhythmists who beat drums to maintain rowing tempo)
This setup mirrors the traditional structure of Kerala's iconic chundan vallams, ensuring an authentic experience for spectators and participants alike.
First Race Date And Future Booking Details:
The inaugural race featuring the new fibre boats wiall be held at Cheepungal on September 10. Following this, races may be organised on Vembanad Lake, depending on bookings from hotels and resorts along the lakeside.
Tourists can also enjoy customised races, as private groups and hospitality partners will be allowed to book streams for a more personalised experience.
