The wait for a smoother, faster commute between Delhi and Jaipur is finally coming to an end. The new Greenfield highway, built at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, will slash travel time between the two cities to a mere 3 hours. This state-of-the-art infrastructure project promises to enhance connectivity, boost economic growth and provide a seamless travel experience to commuters. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the completion of the Bandikui spur on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Jaipur on Wednesday. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "We have successfully completed the 66.916 km long, 4-lane Greenfield Bandikui Spur, constructed at a capital cost of Rs 2,016 crore. This strategically significant project provides direct, access-controlled connectivity between the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway and Jaipur, addressing the lack of a direct route that previously compelled commuters to take longer, fuel-intensive journeys."

Gadkari added, "The new spur is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Jaipur from 3 hours 45 minutes to just 3 hours, significantly improving mobility and easing congestion on NH-48 and NH-21."
Built at a cost of Rs 2,016 crore, the highway project complies with contemporary safety and construction regulations. As per reports, the route is carefully designed to avoid existing residential neighbourhoods in order to minimise its impact on the environment. In addition to saving a significant amount of time, money and fuel, the highway is also expected to protect the local ecosystems.

Bypassing the more traditional and sometimes congested routes like NH-48 and NH-21, the new expressway link connects the Bandikui Spur straight to Jaipur.
