One more person on Monday died to injuries suffered in a fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential building at Tardeo in Mumbai, raising the death toll in the incident to seven, a civic official said.

MTNL has suspended two officers for failing to maintain the standard of fire fighting system of the company's building at Bandra West in which a fire broke out on July 22.

The government on Tuesday ordered a high-level inquiry into the fire incidents in MTNL and BSNL buildings in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, and asked the two firms to conduct fresh fire and safety audits in a time-bound manner.
