Pune:
A 32-year-old man was killed with sharp weapons by nine people at Datta Nagar in Kondhwa Budruk in the wee hours yesterday.
The deceased, Dnyaneshwar Shivaji Jadhav, was riding a bike to his vegetable stall in Market Yard with his brother-in-law Ankush Mane when a gang of nine people intercepted them with a rope laid on the road. The bikers fell on the road and Jadhav was attacked.
The assailants were suspected to be associates of Baiju alias Pramod Baban Navghane, a
mandal president who was murdered by rival
mandal members for not paying
hafta during a Navratri procession in Dhankawadi in October. Jadhav, a resident of Ambegaon Budruk in Haveli, is a brother-in-law of Datta Mane, an accused in the Navghane murder case.
