Review in pics: Malligadu

Directed by Ameer Sultan, Malligadu is a Telugu movie where Karthi Sivakumar, Priyamani, Saravanan and Ponvannan are the main cast of the film.

Karthi Sivakumar plays a local goon, Mallibabu, who along with his uncle (Saravanan) falls on the wrong side of the law.

Often in conflict with his father (Ponvannan) and the villagers, Mallibabu is portrayed as a rebel fighting against the caste system.

Priyamani plays Mallibabu's love interest.

Mallibabu and Malli (Priyamani), who is also his relative, decide to get married but the villagers oppose the wedding.

The story revolves around the conflict between Mallibabu and the villagers.

Karthi has delivered a powerful performance in his debut role as a local goon.

Playing a difficult role, Priyamani, comes through well.

The cinematography is impressive and the cinematographer's idea of shooting certain shots in black and white worked well with the plot.

Saravanan and Ponvannan have also given good performances.

The climax was too stretched. It could have been short and crisp.

Overall an interesting watch but largely caters to fans of Karthi.
