Incessant rain hits normal life in Tamil Nadu
Barely two months after the deluge in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, heavy rains have flooded parts of Tamil Nadu. Thirty-four people have lost their lives in the incessant rain in the state. Commuters had to face difficulty as roads were flooded.

Normal life has been badly hit in many parts of the state. Thirteen people died in Tamil Nadu's Nilgiris district on Monday following house collapse and other rain related incidents.
The rains have flooded the roads and streets in the cities have been submerged. Most of these casualties are due to wall collapses and electrocution in the Niligiris, Virudhnagar, Ramanathapuram and Dindigul districts.
The northeast monsoon set in a week ago and the met office has forecast intermittent showers on Monday. Many low-lying areas have been completely submerged.
Many government buildings have been submerged and authorities have ordered schools to be shut in Chennai and many districts till the water level recedes.
However, people of Chennai heaved a sigh of relief as the low pressure over Comerin area moved north westwards bringing the much needed respite after the two-day deluge.
