An 18-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide at his home in Maharashtra's Nagpur. Saurabh Nagpurkar was suffering from "psychological distress", the police said.
In his one-page suicide note, Saurabh referred to an accident he had reportedly witnessed two months ago and wrote that "the soul of a young boy who he saw dying in the accident was calling him", police officer Tulsiram Dhakulkar told news agency ANI.
In the note, Saurabh also claimed that he had met with two minor road accidents "caused" by the boy's soul, which was "obstructing" his path, Mr Dhakulkar said.
The police found that the boy was bright in studies but had not been talking to anyone for a month. He had briefly mentioned to his family that he was scared, they did not pay much attention towards him.
A case of accidental death has been filed by the police.
The teen lived with his parents and elder sister.
