An Audi rashly driven by a school student rammed two cars in Jaipur on Tuesday, the police said. The underage driver told the police he is the son of Congress MLA Rajkumar Sharma, and allegedly turned aggressive toward the driver of the car that he rammed, according to the first information report (FIR).
The Audi hit a Maruti Swift and pushed the smaller car on a divider. Pulkit Pareek and his friend who were in the Swift were injured. Pareek filed the FIR.
Pareek told NDTV he was carrying blood from a blood bank for his brother-in-law when suddenly, near Maharana Pratap Circle, the Audi came speeding at around 150 kmph from behind and hit his vehicle. After the collision, his car crashed into a platform built over a divider.
Pareek said his friend who was in his car was also injured. Pareek himself received seven stitches on his head. Both were discharged from a hospital after receiving treatment.
He alleged the underage Audi driver threatened them, saying he was the son of an MLA and told them to "take some money and get your car repaired."
Pareek said the police have called him to the station tomorrow to record his statement. He demanded strict action be taken against the offender.
Pareek in the FIR alleged that when they came out of the Swift after the Audi rammed it, they found the driver to be very young, about 15-16 years old. The teen allegedly became aggressive and tried to assault him, Pareek said.
The Audi's airbags deployed after hitting the two cars.
One of the cars damaged by the Audi left the scene and its driver did not file a complaint, the police said.
