A 28-year-old man was beaten to death in a village here when he went to meet a married woman at her house at night, police said on Tuesday.
Three people have been booked in connection with the incident, which took place at Jinamai village in Bulandshahr district on Monday night, they said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Antariksh Jain said police were informed about the incident on Tuesday morning.
Anupshahr Circle Officer, along with a team from Chhatari police station, reached the spot. They identified the deceased as Pushpendra, a resident of Jinamai village, SP Jain said.
According to preliminary information, Pushpendra had gone to the house of a married woman at night, when he was allegedly assaulted with sticks by her husband and her uncle, resulting in his death, he said.
A forensics team visited the crime scene and collected evidence.
One accused has been taken into custody, while three police teams have been formed to arrest the remaining accused, Jain said.
