India COVID-19 Highlights: The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent
India recorded 3,712 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,64,544. The active cases also increased to 19,509, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
The number of death due to COVID-19 climbed to 5,24,641 with 5 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.
An increase of 1,123 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.60 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.56 per cent, according to the ministry.

West Bengal's Active COVID-19 Tally At 375
West Bengal reported 57 new COVID-19 on Thursday, the Health Department said.
The toll remained at 21,204 with no deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The state has so far reported 20,19,501 cases.
Thirty-nine more patients recovered, taking the total recoveries to 19,97,922, the department added.
There are 375 active cases in the state at present.
The new cases were detected after testing 7,753 samples.
Gujarat Sees 50 COVID-19 Cases, No DeathGujarat has registered 50
COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 12,25,292, while the death toll remained unchanged at 10,944, a state government health official said on Thursday.
The recovery count increased by 25 and stood at 12,14,094, leaving the state with 254 active cases, he added.

Telangana Reports 67 New COVID-19 CasesTelangana on Thursday clocked 67 fresh
COVID-19 cases, taking the total infection count to 7,93,419.
Hyderabad reported the highest number of cases with 40.
A health department bulletin said 27 people recuperated from the infection and the cumulative number of recoveries till date was 7,88,787.
The recovery rate stood at 99.42 per cent.
No fresh fatality occurred due to the infectious disease and the toll continued to be 4,111.
Chhattisgarh Sees 8 COVID-19 cases, No DeathChhattisgarh on Thursday recorded eight
COVID-19 cases, taking the tally in the state to 11,52,476, while the death toll remained unchanged at 14,034, an official said.
The eight cases comprised three in Raipur, two in Bilaspur and one each in Durg, Dhamtari and Raigarh, while no new COVID-19 case was reported in 23 districts, he said.
The number of recoveries reached 11,38,380 after six persons completed home isolation, leaving the state with an active tally of 62, the official said.
Tamil Nadu Adds 145 New COVID-19 Cases
Tamil Nadu on Thursday added 145 new COVID-19 cases, including a returnee from the United Arab Emirates, taking the total positives to 34,55,758.
The toll remained unchanged at 38,025 with nil fatalities, a medical bulletin said.
The state has been witnessing a rise in fresh infections over the last few days with majority of them contributed by clusters emerging at educational institutions.
As many as 63 people have recuperated in the last 24 hours aggregating to 34,17,022 leaving 711 active infections, it said.
Madhya Pradesh Sees 25 COVID-19 Cases, No Death
The COVID-19 caseload in Madhya Pradesh rose to 10,42,643 on Thursday after 25 cases were detected, while the death toll remained unchanged at 10,736, an official said.
The positivity rate stands at 0.3 per cent, while the recovery count increased by 49 to touch 10,31,653, leaving the state with 254 active cases, he added.
With 7,407 samples examined during the day, the number of coronavirus tests carried out in Madhya Pradesh went up to 2,93,19,204, he said.
Maharashtra Records 1,045 COVID-19 Cases, 1 death Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 1,045 new coronavirus infections and one death, the state health department said.
The tally of active cases in the state also rose to 4,559.
The caseload in the state now stands at 78,89,212, and death toll at 1,47,861.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra had recorded 1,081 new cases and zero fatalities. The increase in cases on Wednesday was the highest since February 24.
Of 1,045 new cases recorded on Thursday, Mumbai alone accounted for 704. The sole fatality in the state was also reported from Mumbai.
The state's case fatality rate stands at 1.78 per cent.
7 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In Jammu And Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir reported seven new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the infection tally in the union territory to 4,54,262, officials said here.
Four cases were reported from Jammu district while two cases were detected in Srinagar district, the officials said here.
There are 56 active cases of the disease in the union territory, while the number of recoveries has reached 4,49,452, they said.
The COVID-19 death toll in the union territory stands at 4,752 as no fresh fatality was reported in the last 24 hours.
373 Fresh Cases, 2 More Deaths In Delhi; Positivity Rate 1.85 Per Cent
Delhi on Thursday logged 373 fresh COVID-19 cases and two more deaths while the positivity rate stood at 1.85 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department.
With this, Delhi's COVID-19 tally increased to 19,07,637 while the death toll stood at 26,212.
A total of 20,195 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the national capital the previous day, the department said in its latest bulletin.
On Wednesday, the national capital had recorded 368 COVID-19 cases and zero death, while the positivity rate had stood at 1.74 per cent.
Puducherry Logs 4 New COVID-19 Cases
Puducherry reported four new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the total number of those affected by the disease to 1,65,874.
Director of Health G Sriramulu in a release said the four fresh infections surfaced during examination of 1,220 samples in the last 24 hours.
The active cases shot up to 29 and there was no recovery of any patient in any of the four regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam today. The overall recoveries remained 1,63,883.
Mr Sriramulu said there was no fresh fatalities during last 24 hours and the toll remained 1,962.
The senior official said the department has so far tested 22,54,685 samples and has found 18,99,578 of them to be negative.
Odisha's Active COVID-19 Caseload At 81
Odisha reported 11 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 12,88,465, the health department said.
The toll remained at 9,126 with no deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
The state now has 81 active cases, while 12,79,205 patients recovered from the disease, including nine on Thursday, the department said.
Maharashtra's Thane District Reports 155 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
With the addition of 155 coronavirus positive cases, the infection count in Thane district of Maharashtra rose to 7,10,243, an official said today.
These cases were reported on Wednesday.
As nobody succumbed to the infection during the day, the death count in the district remained unchanged at 11,895, he said, adding that the COVID-19 mortality rate of the district is 1.67 per cent.
In neighbouring Palghar district, the caseload stood at 1,63,612, while the number of deaths is 3,407, another official said.
Two Active COVID-19 Cases In Andamans
Two COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a health bulletin said today.
The coronavirus tally remained unchanged at 10,046 as no fresh infection was detected, it said.
One more person was cured of the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 9,915. A total of 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.
The administration has thus far tested over 7.38 lakh samples for COVID-19, and fully vaccinated 3.39 lakh people.
