- Actor Vikramm Bhambri said many of his scenes were cut from the final film version.
- Bhambri plays Shakeel Commando, a gang member of Ranveer Singh's character.
Dhurandhar 2 was released in theatres on March 19 and has been performing strongly at the box office since then. The film has broken several records. Its domestic gross collections stand at Rs 1,122.17 crore in India, while worldwide earnings are at Rs 1,492.17 crore, according to Sacnilk.
Amid the film's success, actor Vikramm Bhambri said several of his scenes were removed from the final cut, which left him disappointed. However, he added that he is still pleased with the film's overall response.
In a conversation with the Times of India, the actor, who plays Shakeel Commando - one of Ranveer Singh's gang members - spoke about being selected for the film and recalled when he was first informed about his character's name.
What Vikramm Bhambri Said
The actor said, "At that time, I felt it sounded like a terrorist-type name. But then I told myself that at least I had a name and was not an extra. In theatre, we learn that if your character has a name, it means you have an important role. Later, when we started working, we were told that we were gang members and would be with Ranveer. That felt really good."
He further added, "But when the film was released, I didn't see as much presence or visibility as we had shot. When I watched Part 1 with my parents, I felt very sad. An actor wants visibility, so I felt unsettled for a couple of days as many of my scenes that we had shot were removed, possibly due to unavoidable reasons. That was very disappointing for me. My parents kept telling me to be thankful, but the heart doesn't always listen."
"Then something happened. On the second day, a delivery person came up to me and said, 'Sir, I saw you yesterday. You are in Dhurandhar, right?' That moment changed everything. I became the happiest person," the actor said.
