- Ranveer Singh performed intense fight scenes wearing heavy costumes and a wig in scorching conditions
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is not slowing down anytime soon. The action spectacle fronted by Ranveer Singh continues its phenomenal box office run even two weeks after release. Ranveer Singh's Lyari saga is steadily marching towards the Rs 1,000 crore milestone in India.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the domestic collections currently stand at Rs 1,122.17 crore gross, while the worldwide collections have touched Rs 1,492.17 crore. With numbers like these, the film has firmly established itself as one of the biggest blockbusters in recent Indian cinema.
While audiences are cheering the high octane action and larger than life storytelling, the effort behind the scenes was equally intense. In an interview with makeup and prosthetic artist Karandeep Singh from Da Makeup Lab, NDTV got a glimpse of the gruelling conditions under which the film's massive climax was shot.
Karandeep revealed that the team spent nearly 15 to 20 days filming the climactic sequence, including rehearsals. The shoot took place on the outskirts of Ludhiana under extremely harsh conditions.
"We were shooting in the outskirts of Ludhiana and the temperature was around 47 to 48 degrees. There was not a single tree or shade anywhere," Karandeep recalled.
The location itself added to the challenge. The action scene was staged in an industrial setup surrounded by metal containers, vehicles and stationary goods trains.
"Heat was reflecting from every metal surface around us. On one side there were vehicles, on the other side containers, and goods trains standing nearby. We were shooting right in the middle of all this," he said.
In the middle of that scorching heat was Ranveer Singh performing physically demanding fight sequences. According to Karandeep, the actor was dressed in a heavy Pathani suit layered with a leather jacket and an overcoat while jumping across burning containers during the action scenes.
"The fight sequence had Ranveer jumping from one container to another. The containers were literally burning in the heat," he explained.
Another surprising detail was the amount of fake blood used during the shoot. "The amount of blood we used on Ranveer every day was unbelievable. We finished a full bucket of blood in a week," Karandeep said, adding that the sticky texture becomes extremely uncomfortable once it dries on the skin.
Despite the unbearable heat, Ranveer remained patient throughout the shoot. "Fans and ACs were there but nothing was working because of the heat. It was so hot that we couldn't even eat properly," Karandeep added.
The actor also had to wear a wig during the sequence, which Karandeep compared to wearing a woollen cap in extreme summer heat. "A wig itself has weight and warmth. Wearing that in 47 degrees is like wearing a woollen cap," he said, praising the actor's dedication.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge released in December 2025 and quickly emerged as the year's highest grossing film and the top earner in a single language.
The sequel even surpassed the lifetime collection of the first film within just 11 days of release. Along with Ranveer Singh, the film also features returning performances by Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, making it one of the most talked about action franchises in recent times.
