West Bengal's Raiganj Lok Sabha constituency went to polls on April 18, in the second phase of 2019 general election. The Raiganj constituency consists of Islampur, Goalpokhar, Chakulia, Karandighi, Hemtabad, Kaliaganj and Raiganj assembly seats among which the Hemtabad and Raiganj are reserved for candidates belonging to candidates belonging to scheduled caste category.

Congress has a stronghold on the Raiganj seat and has won the seat thirteen times. The ruling party CPI (M) is in the fourth term in Raiganj seat out of which three are consecutive terms.

Among the 14 contenders for the Raiganj seat, is the sitting MP Mohammed Salim and the runner up contestant in 2014 election Deepa Dasmunshi (Congress).

Mohammed Salim defeated Congress' Deepa Dasmunshi by 1,634 votes. A total of 1097264 votes were exercised in the constituency in the last time.

10929 votes in the constituency were registered under NOTA option.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Debasree Chaudhuri and TMC nominated Kanaialal Agarwal will also contest for the Raiganj seat.

Among regional parties, contesting for the Raiganj seat in 2019 general election are, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Ambedkarite Party of India and Kamatapur People's Party (united).

5 independent candidates are also in fray for the Raiganj seat.
