About Khadoor Sahib

The Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency consists of 14-Jandiala, Tarn Taran, Khem Karan, Patti, Khadoor Sahib, Baba Bakala, Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi, Zira assembly segments. Under this constituency the Jandiala and Baba Bakala assembly seats fall under the scheduled caste category.

The constituency went to polls on May 19 in the seventh phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

Shiromani Akali Dal's Ranjit Singh Brahmpura is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Harminder Singh Gill, the Congress nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 100569. He is the leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal Party (SAD) in Lok Sabha and is a member on the Rules Committee, Standing Committee on External Affairs and the Consultative Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs. He was also a member of the Public Accounts Committee.    

This time the lok sabha elections will have Jasbir Singh Gill (Dimpa), who was the Congress nominated candidate from this constituency along with SAD's Bibi Jagir Kaur and AAP's Manjinder Singh Sindhu. They are among the 19 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are nine independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,563,256.
