In the 2014 general elections, Prataprao G Jadhav of the Shiv Sena defeated Ingle Krushanarao of the Nationalist Congress Party or NCP in Buldhana Lok Sabha Constituency with a margin of 1,59,579 votes. The Shiv Sena candidate secured 5,09,145 votes while his nearest rival polled 3,49,566 votes.
Buldhana, considered a Shiv Sena bastion since 1999, the party has retained sitting member of parliament Prataprao Jadhav who will lock horns with the NCP's Rajendra Shingane in the 2019 general elections.
