About Kheda

Kheda Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat consists of Daskroi, Dholka, Matar, Nadiad, Mehmedabad, Mahudha and Kapadvanj assembly segments. It is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. Kheda constituency voted on April 23, in the third phase of 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Kheda constituency (formerly Kaira constituency), was won by the BJP in 2014.

In the 2014 general election, BJP's Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan defeated Congress's Dinsha Patel by a margin of 2,32,901 votes.

Planning for a third term in the constituency, BJP is fielding sitting MP Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan. The Congress on the other hand has nominated Bimal Shah as its candidate from Kheda.

A total of seven candidates are contesting in the Kheda constituency.

Bahujan Samaj Party which got only 5,791 votes in the last election, has fielded Bhailalbhai Kalubhai Pandav once again.

Among other contestants are Parsottambhai Babarbhai Chauhan (Yuva Jan Jagriti Party), Kamleshkumar Ratilal Patel (Hindusthan Nirman Dal), Ayashabanu Pathan (Ambedkar National Congress) and Imtiyazkhan Saeedkhan Pathan (Apna Desh Party).
