The Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha constituency consists of Ellisbridge, Amraiwadi, Dariapur, Jamalpur - Khadia, Maninagar, Danilimda and Asarwa assembly segments. The Danilimda and Asarwa seats are reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category. Ahmedabad West constituency went to polls on April 23 in the third phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

There are 16,42,720 voters registered in this constituency, which includes 8,51,291 male voters and 7,91,404 female voters. 25 voters in this constituency are of the third gender. Highest number of voters are in Amraiwadi and the least in Dariapur.

This is the third time that voting took place in Ahmedabad West constituency. The constituency was formed in 2008 following the delimitation order.

BJP candidate Kirit Premjibhai Solanki has been winning this seat since 2009. He will be contesting this time. Mr Solanki will contest against Congress's Raju Parmar and Bahujan Samaj Party's Tribhovandas Karsandas Vaghela.

For the 2019 Lok Sabha election, there are 13 candidates contesting for the Ahmedabad West seat.

Among the regional parties contesting from this seat are Rashtriya Power Party, Peoples Party of India (Democratic), Manvadhikar National Party, Bhartiya Tribal Party, Ambedkarite Party of India, Jan Satya Path Party and Right to Recall Party.
