Purpose in Action

At NDTV, responsibility is embedded in the way we operate and grow. As the organisation continues its transformation, we remain focussed on building a business that creates long-term value while upholding the principles of sustainability, transparency and trust.

Our approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities reflects this commitment. From responsible resource use and employee well-being to ethical governance and accountability, we aim to ensure that progress is thoughtful, inclusive and resilient.

The following sections outline how these priorities are translated into action across three key areas:

Environment

Reducing operational impact and promoting responsible resource practices

Social

Supporting our people, audiences and communities

Governance

Strengthening ethical conduct, transparency and accountable governance practices

Environment

Towards Responsible Operations

We recognise the importance of responsible environmental stewardship and continue to integrate sustainability considerations into our operations and culture. We focus on adopting efficient practices, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging responsible resource use across our network.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Infrastructure

We continue to invest in energy-efficient technologies to optimise power consumption across our operations. This includes the deployment of LED lighting systems, energy-efficient studio lighting equipment, and modern studio cameras that consume significantly less power while maintaining high production and broadcast quality.

Energy optimisation has also been enhanced through the utilisation of a chiller plant system, which improves cooling efficiency and reduces overall energy consumption.

Our infrastructure design incorporates the strategic use of glass architecture, helping reduce heat generation within the building and lowering the load on air-conditioning systems.

In addition, we have installed a rooftop fresh-air filtration system to remove sulphur, silver particles, and other airborne impurities, improving indoor air quality and promoting a healthier workplace environment.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

We encourage environmentally responsible commuting practices among our employees through car-pooling initiatives and shuttle services, helping reduce fuel consumption and transportation-related emissions.

As part of our fuel-efficiency initiatives, we have transitioned from traditional DSNG vans to more efficient mobile journalism technologies such as backpacks and Mojo kits. This transition has contributed to reduced fuel usage and lower operational emissions.

Waste Management and Recycling

We have implemented structured processes for responsible waste management across our facilities. Paper waste generated during operations is segregated and sent for recycling through authorised vendors to ensure proper reuse and minimise landfill disposal.

Electronic waste arising from obsolete or end-of-life equipment is disposed of through certified recycling agencies in accordance with environmentally responsible e-waste management practices. During the year, obsolete electronic equipment from our transition to the Max Office facility was disposed of through certified green channels.

Bio-waste generated within our office premises is also systematically segregated and processed through appropriate disposal mechanisms to ensure hygienic and sustainable waste handling.

Digitisation and Resource Conservation

We have initiated the digitisation of legacy linear tapes into a digital asset-management system. This helps preserve valuable archival content while reducing the need for physical storage infrastructure and lowering energy consumption.

Green Workplace Initiatives and Safety

Tree plantation and sapling drives have been conducted at both our Registered Office and Corporate Office to promote green cover and environmental awareness.

We also conduct regular fire-safety drills and training programmes for our security personnel, employees, and workers to ensure preparedness and safe workplace practices.

Environmental Stewardship

Decarbonisation

We are reducing our carbon footprint through energy-efficient technologies, optimised cooling systems, and the transition to fuel-efficient mobile journalism solutions.

Waste Management

We follow structured waste segregation, recycling, and certified e-waste disposal practices to minimise environmental impact.

Eco-Conscious Culture

We promote sustainability through plantation drives and employee engagement initiatives that encourage environmentally responsible behaviour.

Educational Programming

We leverage our platform to develop and broadcast content that raises awareness on critical environmental and social issues.
