Yamaha Motor India has announced its entry into the electric two-wheeler space with the unveiling of the Aerox E. The electric version of the Aerox comes with a design similar to its ICE counterpart but with an electric powertrain. It has been specifically developed for the Indian market, and the prices of the model will be revealed in Q1 2026. To improve its presence in the space, the automaker has announced that it will be setting up charging infrastructure in the company.
The Yamaha Aerox E features a 9.4kW motor that generates a peak torque of 48 Nm. This motor is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack, consisting of dual batteries, which are said to use high-energy type cells for exceptional performance. This setup is claimed to offer a range of 106 km on a single charge. While the details of the charging options have not been revealed, the brand has hinted at the availability of a variety of charging options for the battery pack. Importantly, the battery is detachable and can be recharged at home.

The Yamaha Aerox-E offers three riding modes: Eco, Standard, and Power, in addition to a Boost feature for improving acceleration. The scooter also includes a reverse mode for ease when maneuvering in confined parking areas. Among its features are a smart key system and a five-inch TFT display that supports Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Safety features include single-channel ABS and traction control.
