Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Limited has initiated the production of the Volkswagen Taigun Facelift at its plant in Pune. The new Taigun is expected to carry forward the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 115 hp of power and is likely to continue with a 6-speed manual, while the 6-speed automatic option could be replaced by a new 8-speed unit. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 150hp is also expected to carry on with the choice of 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.
