A video showing a Tata Sierra SUV falling from 50 feet has gone viral on social media. The clip claims the vehicle was dropped during a test to check the durability of the SUV. Recently launched in the Indian market, the SUV has been the center of multiple discussions, helping the video gain traction on social media. However, the viral video is not real and was made using artificial intelligence software.
The video shows a yellow Tata Sierra SUV in mid-air above a construction site. The video later shows the SUV dropped on ground and it includes slow-motion effects and shows the car hitting the ground, with debris scattering. It also shows the person placing a crash test dummy in the seat during the so-called test. The footage has garnered thousands of views and shares across platforms like Instagram and X.

Reverse image searches on keyframes from the video lead to AI video generation tools. The content matches outputs from platforms that create realistic simulations using text prompts. No credible news sources or official Tata Motors statements report such a test. Furthermore, there are inconsistencies like unnatural lighting, physics-defying motion, and a lack of authentic crash test branding.
A closer look also reveals a different design compared to the Tata Sierra, which will be launched in the country. Furthermore, the cabin of the vehicle is also very different from the actual vehicle made by the Indian automaker.

Social media users questioned the video's authenticity early on, prompting shares with disclaimers. Fact-checking sites have labeled it as manipulated content designed for engagement. Tata Motors has not commented on the video as of December 4, 2025. Similar AI-generated clips involving Indian cars have circulated before, often exaggerating durability claims.
