Tata Motors recently launched the Altroz facelift in the Indian market for a starting price of Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the introductory price, meaning it can soon change. Currently, it is a hike of around Rs 24,000 compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, the most expensive variant is priced at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Within this price range, the premium hatchback competes against models like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.

Tata Altroz facelift gets advantage points over its competitors because it is the only vehicle in the range with a petrol, diesel, and CNG powertrain. Specifically, it gets a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with the options of a  5-speed manual, a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a 5-speed AMT. This unit produces 88 hp of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. This makes it the second most powerful engine available on the Altroz.

This power is transferred to the wheels using a five-speed transmission. This setup offers a mileage of 23.60 kmpl.

The Tata Altroz facelift is available in Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S variants. Among these, the Smart trim gets the option of only CNG and petrol powertrains with MT. Pure, Pure S, and Creative also get petrol and CNG powertrains, but with the option of AMT as well.

Meanwhile, Creative S has got the option of MT, AMT, and DCA with petrol, while CNG is also available. On the other hand, Accomplished S variants get MT and DCA with a petrol powertrain. The top-of-the-line Accomplished + S comes only with a petrol engine paired with DCA. Consumers looking for a diesel powertrain only have the option to go for Pure, Creative S, and Accomplished S trims.
