2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS
Recently, Mercedes-Benz India has revealed plans to start producing the Maybach GLS at its Pune facility. This development makes India the first market outside the United States to manufacture this ultra-luxury SUV. Until now, the Maybach GLS was offered as a completely built unit, having been shipped to the country since 2021. This announcement comes alongside the introduction of a new Celebration Edition of the model, which is priced at Rs 4.1 crore (ex-showroom).
Thanks to local manufacturing, the starting prices for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS will now be Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom). This marks a substantial decrease of approximately Rs 40 lakh in its pricing. The automaker's decision is influenced by the fact that India has ranked among the top five global markets for Mercedes-Maybach for the first time. By utilizing locally produced units, the brand aims to enhance its accessibility to consumers by decreasing delivery times and improving availability of the vehicle.
