Renault has officially unveiled the eagerly awaited Kwid EV in Brazil. In the local market, the electric iteration of the popular hatchback will be known as the 'Kwid E-Tech'. Built on the same platform as the Dacia Spring EV, this model marks a significant step in Renault's electrification strategy. Interestingly, test mules of the Kwid EV have been spotted multiple times in India, indicating that its launch on Indian roads could be imminent. Once introduced, the Renault Kwid EV is expected to compete with models like the Citroen e-C3, Tata Tiago EV, and several others.

Starting with the design, the Renault Kwid EV seems to borrow much of its inspiration from the Dacia offspring. On the front, the electric hatch gets a closed-off grille, complemented by vertical slats giving it a chunky look. The projector headlights reserve their spot on either side of the front bumper. The sides of the Kwid EV seem to get minimal upgrades, resembling its ICE version, and sports black wheel arch claddings, ORVM-mounted indicator lights, black side cladding, and 14-inch dual-tone alloys. On the rear, the Renault Kwid EV features a Y-shaped LED DRL, with halogen-based reverse lights.

It gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, enabled with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, two USB-C ports, a height-adjustable steering wheel, and more. For safety, the Dacia sibling has been equipped with features like 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, hill-start assist, rear camera, TPMS, seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX, and more.
