Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hits 5 Lakh Production Mark In Just 28 Months

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is also the first 'Made-in-India' SUV to be exported from India to Japan.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced a significant production milestone for the Fronx SUV. Based on the brand's announcement, the SUV has achieved 5 lakh units since the beginning of production of the vehicle. First launched in 2023, the SUV was quick to gain popularity among Indian consumers and later became the highest exported passenger vehicle in FY 2024-25.

To make things even better for the automaker, the Fronx was also among the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the domestic market during FY 2024-25. Looking at more stats, Fronx was also among the fastest vehicles to achieve 1 lakh sales within 10 months from launch, and it also registered the highest monthly sales over 21,400 units in February 2025.

The Fronx is notable for being Maruti Suzuki's first 'Made in India' SUV to be sent to Japan. These exports to Japan enabled the Fronx to become the quickest SUV to reach 100,000 exports. The vehicle is also shipped to regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has a starting price of Rs 7.54 lakh (ex-showroom), with the highest price reaching Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is equipped with either a 1.2-litre K-series engine from the brand or a 1.0-litre K-series turbo petrol engine (optional). Transmission choices consist of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual for the naturally aspirated engine, and a 5-speed manual along with a 6-speed automatic for the turbo petrol variant.
