Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Dzire compact sedan has surpassed the 30 lakh (3 million) sales mark in India. The model also emerged as the company's highest-selling car in calendar year 2025 with over 2.14 lakh units sold, highlighting its position as a key volume driver for the brand.

Introduced in 2008, the Dzire has evolved across four generations, steadily adding features and enhancements to keep pace with changing customer expectations. The latest iteration adopts a more sophisticated sedan design and is targeted at young buyers. Maruti Suzuki says nearly half of Dzire customers are first-time car buyers, highlighting the model's role as an entry point into the brand at a starting price of Rs 6.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Fuel-Efficient Engine

A major factor behind the Dzire's popularity is its focus on efficiency, with the sedan claiming fuel economy figures of 24.79 km/l in petrol manual form and 33.73 km/kg in S-CNG mode, as certified under government test conditions. The company positions the Dzire as one of the most fuel-efficient sedans in its segment, an attribute that has strong appeal among cost-conscious Indian customers.
