Nissan has launched the Tekton in India at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the most expensive variant of the SUV comes at Rs 18.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

Nissan Tekton is already available for bookings, and deliveries begin in 11 days on July 20. The brand claims this is the shortest timeline for deliveries in the country.

Nissan Tekton is offering six trim levels with over 50 personalisation options supported by 11 paint scheme options and four interior themes.

Under the hood, the Nissan Tekton houses a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The unit is tuned to produce 100 hp of power and 166 Nm of peak torque. The options also include a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine which puts out 163 hp of power and 280 Nm of peak torque. The list of transmissions includes a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT (specific to the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine). The smaller engine claims a mileage of 19.4 kmpl, while the bigger unit offers a mileage of up to 18.5 kmpl.

The SUV also comes packed with features like paddle shifters, an electronic parking brake, a smart powered tailgate, and adaptive cruise control. The car also gets the standard safety features along with ADAS features.

The brand is offering a remote start-stop feature along with voice command for features like adjusting temperature, setting up location, and more. All of these features can be operated by the My Nissan App, which will also get OTA updates. All of this is supported by Google.

The Nissan Tekton will come packed with features like dual-zone AC control, ventilated seats, powered front seats, dual-tone interiors, panoramic sunroof, Google built-in with Google Maps, Gemini, and more.

The car has a length of 4.3 meters and a width of 1.8 meters. It also offers a ground clearance of 212 mm, which is claimed to be one of the highest in the segment.

The Nissan Patrol gets an upright stance with muscular wheel arches filled by 18-inch alloy wheels with a fresh design. The SUV gets C-shaped LED DRLs with a horizontal design for the headlamps. All of this is complemented by grille.

Massimiliano Messina, Chairperson, Nissan AMEO Region, announced that the Tekton is aimed at offering a "big car feeling" with intuitive tech and is aimed at aspirational consumers with comfort and tech. He also said that the Tekton will represent the knowledge accumulated by the brand with 75 years of experience making SUVs.

As for the list of features, the SUV is expected to come packed with elements like wireless charging, front ventilated seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ambient lighting, and more.

The cabin of the Nissan Tekton is expected to come with a long list of features. It is expected to have what people would call premium upholstery with a five-seat layout common for this segment. The automaker is also expected to offer a digital instrument cluster and a relatively big infotainment screen while keeping the focus on offering comfort.

With the Tekton, the brand is also aiming to change its design philosophy for the country. With this, the automaker is introducing a new design language that has been absent from the current products, which still follow a relatively older style.

In teasers for the SUV, the brand has revealed that the automaker's famous Patrol SUV inspires the Tekton's design. The inspiration is visible in the form of an upright front fascia with horizontal headlamps and a big grille supporting the design. Furthermore, the car gets a typical squarish appearance associated with SUVs.

The Nissan Tekton will sit at the top of the brand's current lineup in the country. Positioned above the Magnite among SUVs, it will be the brand's most expensive car apart from the X-Trail, which is still listed on the automaker's official website.
