KTM's 390 range has become significantly more expensive in India, with the 390 Adventure X and 390 Duke receiving fresh price revisions of up to Rs 40,000. The latest increase appears to be linked to Bajaj Auto's strategy of no longer absorbing the higher GST burden on motorcycles above the 350 cc threshold, while also creating room in the lineup for upcoming sub-350 cc versions.
KTM 390 Adventure X Price Hike
The KTM 390 Adventure X has now been priced at Rs 3.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This marks a Rs 17,000 increase over its previous Rs 3.26 lakh sticker price. What makes this more significant is the cumulative hike over the last few months. The bike was originally launched at Rs 2.91 lakh, and with significant updates across the months, the brand added several features to the 390 Adventure X, taking the price up to nearly Rs 3 lakh.
Later, the implementation of revised GST rules pushed the price further to Rs 3.26 lakh. With the latest jump to Rs 3.43 lakh, the total increase now stands at nearly Rs 52,000 from the original launch price, while the recent hike alone is Rs 17,000. In most cities, this is expected to push the on-road price close to or beyond Rs 4 lakh.

KTM 390 Duke Price Hike
The KTM 390 Duke has also undergone a major revision. Previously priced at Rs 2.99 lakh, it now costs Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), translating to a straight Rs 40,000 increase.
This revision comes months after Bajaj had initially chosen to shield customers from the impact of the higher 40 percent GST slab for bikes above 350 cc, which was announced last September. With that temporary cushioning now withdrawn, the price correction has finally reached the Duke.
The updated pricing also widens the gap over the 250 Duke by Rs 1.22 lakh, while creating space for the upcoming downsized 350 cc Duke.

Why The Price Hike?
The biggest reason behind these hikes is the higher GST on motorcycles above 350 cc, which makes 390 cc models costlier to position. At the same time, Bajaj is reportedly working on new sub-350 cc KTM models, similar to the recently introduced Triumph 350 range, to benefit from the lower 18 percent tax bracket. Reports suggest both the existing 399 cc and upcoming 350 cc versions may be sold together initially, giving buyers a wider price and performance spread.
