The safety ratings for the new-generation Kia Seltos have recently been announced by the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), and the SUV has passed the tests with flying colours. With a five-star safety rating, the SUV is the safest ICE car tested by the rating agency. It holds the fourth rank among the safest cars in India and follows the Mahindra XEV 9e, Tata Harrier EV, and Mahindra BE6, which are on the first, second, and third ranks, respectively.
The new Kia Seltos has a five-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection tests. It received 31.70 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 45 points out of 49 for child occupant protection (COP). Overall, the SUV scored 76.90 points out of a total of 81 points. Right behind, the SUV is one of its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, with a five-star rating and an overall score of 74.66 points.

Talking of rivals, one of Seltos' major rivals, the Tata Sierra, also boasts a five-star rating but occupies a relatively lower rank. It has an overall score of 75.87 points. AOP is rated at 31.14 points and COP at 44.73 points. This looks like a significant achievement for the South Korean SUV because Tata cars are often regarded as the safest cars in the country.
