The most fun part of Makara Sankranti are the kites that go soaring high in the sky, paying salutations to an ascending sun. People's Plaza in Hyderabad is hosting a 2-day kite festival. Some 3500 kites are on display here, including designer kites made by school students as part of a kite festival.
