"Sustainability is not boring, it's exciting and can be done using green technology, let's celebrate it", says Bertrand Piccard an explorer and co-pilot of the revolutionary aircraft Solar Impulse. Solar Impulse is project which consisted of a solar powered aircraft which flew around the world making pit stops across the world promoting solar technology. Ulrich Spiesshofer, CEO of global power and automation major ABB which lent engineering support to the project echoes that investing in green technology by his company can be equated to the high risk job of Bertrand's. These gentlemen are ardent promoters of green technologies primarily solar and want the world to decrease its dependence on fossil fuels. "Going to the moon is not a challenge, it's already done. What is challenging is to invest money and effort into technology that changes the way we live for the better", urges Bertrand. Ulrich points that aircraft companies are looking at adopting solar powered aircraft for commercial flights, hence a technology doesn't need to be pushed into a market, the market will demand a technology once it is proven. So these two gentlemen pass on the message that they realise India is one of most promising countries which can power itself to success on green technology on the sidelines of the COP21 summit happening Paris this week.
